Boorong / Wergaia

Bunya

Bunya is the ring-tail possum at the top star of the Southern Cross.

Crux is a tree, a stingray, a spear, or a possum depending on Nation. Boorong, in Stanbridge, gives the top star to Bunya.

Tagai later in this library uses the whole Cross as a fishing spear. Those two readings never occupy the same /sky session.

This card exists so the possum is not swallowed by later Islander or Gamilaraay pages. Each slug is a Nation object.

Mercury 91 is not affiliated with any Aboriginal Land Council, Torres Strait Islander organisation, museum, or Stellarium. This library cites published ethnoastronomy. It is not a partnership and not a single pan-Aboriginal sky.
