Bahloo
Bahloo is the Moon-man in published Euahlayi and Gamilaraay material: phases, death, snakes, and girl babies.
Parker recorded Bahloo asking the first men to carry his dogs. They refused. The dogs became snakes. He stayed in the sky and men became mortal. Another recorded story has Wahn the crow trapping him up a tree that grew into the sky.
Euahlayi speakers said a late moon had been making girl babies. A halo was a house in the rain, or dust from a rain dance. These are weather and kinship readings, not Western selenography.
