Big haunted house

It was my home. A duplex. we used one part of the house the most and had friends over. after the night was done. I went for a walk in my home and realised so many new places where we barely use. i entered a big space and thought to myself that this place would be great to have friends hang out in the part instead of the usual place. But then I noticed all the wallpapers are coming off and things are dirty in the wall. I checked out the porch. It was night time. I went back to the main hall and saw on the top of the stairs my wife is struggling with some sort of witch who is attacking her. I grabbed a knife even though I had a gun. and throw the knife at the witch.
