As a seeker, I have always wondered why the 7 chakras are associated with the 7 colours of the rainbow and why an enlightened person is said to have a LIGHT BODY or RAINBOW BODY. A little digging into colors shows that red has the lowest energy, frequency and vibration whilst violet has the highest energy, frequency and vibration. To say that the kundalini serpent is asleep at the base of the spine is to say that it is sleeping in the plane of the lowest energy and vibration and must be raised to high energy.
In Kundalini Yoga, an 8th chakra is also described: the Aura β the electromagnetic field surrounding the body (around Adam).
